Expert Witness – Court Room Evidence – Part 3 (Autumn ’19)

October 3 @ 08:00 - 17:00

£187.00

This event will deal with the common difficulties often encountered when appearing in court as an expert psychologist.

Presenting evidence in court is the culmination of the work carried out by psychologists in their role as an Expert Witness.

This workshop focuses on the importance of presenting Expert Witness Testimony following the submission of the Expert Report.

Pre-court procedures will be considered and the Meetings of Experts discussed in detail.

Attendees are taken through the court process and shown techniques, via training video, used by the legal profession to undermine expert testimony.

Attendees will have the opportunity to practice their own presentation in court by working in small groups and receiving feedback.

This training is in a small group environment to assist psychologists to learn how to present their existing knowledge at its best in legal settings.

Pre-work

Delegates to this workshop will be disadvantaged if they have not attended Expert Witness workshops 1 or 2  as the approach used builds upon knowledge already presented and will not be repeated.

Target audience

This workshop is intended for HCPC registered practitioner psychologists or those towards the completion of their accredited training.

It is particularly suitable for those considering embarking on practice as an Expert Witness but will also be a useful refresher for those who may have found themselves unexpectedly taking on this role.

This is skills based training for psychologists acting as expert witnesses. It is strongly recommended that you attend Part 1, 2 and 3 sequentially and before attending Part 4.
